Research Advancement is a service unit within the Division of Research and Innovation (DRI) that supports the strategic and proactive growth of research at the University of Arkansas. Service areas in Research Advancement include Research Development, Industry Research Partnerships, and Electronic Research Administration.

Research Advancement assists researchers at every stage of the research and proposal development process and manages research data for the University. On the Research Development and Industry Research Partnerships side, we offer services ranging from brainstorming proposal ideas and assembling teams, to finding funding opportunities and supporting the development and review of proposal content and documents. On the Electronic Research Administration side, we offer support for investigators utilizing the University’s electronic research administration tools, as well as maintaining campus research analytics.

Research Advancement Spotlight

Researchers to Develop Solid Lubricant Coatings for Conveyor Systems

In May 2022, A research and development team led by Min Zou, professor of mechanical engineering and an Arkansas Research Alliance Fellow, has received a $550,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to develop low-friction, durable, graphite-lubricant coatings for industrial conveyor systems.

Birth Through Kindergarten Receives Grant for Early Childhood Pre-K Teacher Academy

In April 2022, Faculty in the birth through kindergarten/special education integrated teacher licensure program in U of A's School of Human Environmental Sciences have received a grant to offer an Early Childhood Pre-K Teacher Academy.
