Contract Negotiation and Review

For industry research proposals, contract negotiation frequently occurs alongside proposal development. Industry Research Partnerships can facilitate and participate in conversations with industry sponsors and their representatives to better understand the sponsor’s position related to contract terms. We are able to draft and assist with the negotiation of industry contracts to ensure that goals of both the UA researchers and private sponsors are met. Our team can assist with drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing industry research agreements. We work collaboratively with other units across campus to ensure that all necessary reviews are conducted by all appropriate UA stakeholders including:

  • Technology Ventures
    • Define background IP
    • Identify potential foreground IP
    • Valuation of IP

    • UA Systems LegalCompliance with University policy and federal, state, and local laws
    • Final legal review
